Our client is a large, future-focused organisation with a complex capital development pipeline.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage contracts in accordance with the agreed standard from preparation to final post implementation review preparation.
The Role
This is a Fixed Term opportunity for 3-4 years and is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in delivery environments with defined timelines and high expectations.
You will play a critical role in establishing the cost and contract management process for new projects including contract formation, reviewing and processing contract claims and ensuring the contract management process is being adhered to at all times.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all infrastructure supplier contracts are documented and proactively managed.
- Ensure all contractual requirements are met and all contractual obligations are understood and protected.
- Regularly monitor contract performance using lead and lag indicators.
- Review project and programme estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required scope of work and budgets are managed closely.
- Reviewing and processing contract claims in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure project and programme costs are tightly monitored, maintained and visible.
- Perform analysis of cost and schedule and provide feedback to Project and Programme Managers.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in client-side commercial roles with a strong focus on contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of NEC 3/4 and NZS 3910 contracts.
- In depth knowledge of best practice behaviours for contract formation and management.
- Experienced in managing claims and disputes effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
